My wife and I changed from a Toyota Isis with the expiry of our COE. Our first impression of the Kia Sorento was that it looks large and luxurious. We were impressed by the range of features found in many luxury continental cars, and reviews of the Sorento were largely positive, with some of them even trumping luxury models priced much higher.

After test-driving the car, we were convinced that it was a car with excellent features. Along with Kia's reputation for reliable safety systems, it made a good buy and we felt that we'd made the right decision. Having driven the car for about a week, we are very pleased with the drive, the power, and the features. Some of my favourite features include the steering wheel mounted audio, hands-free phone and cruise control button, USB charging points in the front and middle seats, third-row air conditioning and control, ventilated front seats, driver seat memory positioning for 2 drivers, Carplay with Motrex system, and smart power tailgate. We are still discovering more about the car, but so far it has been great driving this vehicle.No car is perfect and we are sure we will find some weaknesses in time. However our experience so far is largely consistent with the positive reviews we have read.

Furthermore we have had an excellent sales agent, Melvin, who helped us with the purchase and continues to be helpful whenever we have queries. I am confident that if we do have problems later on, we will have good aftersales support from Cycle & Carriage.

We were first served by Melvin in late December. Even though we were not yet ready to commit to a purchase, he was patient in answering our queries and provided useful information about the Carens. Later, we changed our minds and started considering the Sorento. Melvin continued to answer our questions both in the Kia showroom and through Whatsapp. He always responded cheerfully to what we asked and came back with an answer. When we negotiated the deal for the car, he painted to us a realistic picture of what we could expect in the light of the market situation, our options with regard to non-guaranteed and guaranteed bids, etc. This made it easier to decide and we felt at ease with him as we were given sufficient information about what we were buying. His professionalism and cheerfulness is much appreciated. I wished the other sales agents we have met in different showrooms can be like him. It was a pleasure working with him and we were able to achieve a win-win situation for us and for C&C. Melvin continues to provide us with aftersales support with the same cheerfulness and professionalism. If any of my friends are looking for a Kia, I would unreservedly recommend him.
